I am in the US, so I don’t know how these things work in the UK, but over here musicians can do MPTF Trust Fund jobs. The Music Performance Trust Fund uses subsidies from the recording industry to fund live performances at schools, community events, nursing homes etc.

There are musicians who are very good at solo or duo entertaining of the older crowd, singing and playing a guitar or keyboard instrument. They have the correct repertoire and could lead a sing-along, talk about the music or whatever works.

The MU would also have access to retired musicians who are no longer full-time, but might welcome the chance to gig occasionally.

Well i got a voice like a cracked plate, but I live in the channel isles so maybe it’ll sound better from afar lol

But I think the local paper might be your best bet, or try local youth clubs and bingo hall!!

why not try for a budding young DJ to play from CDs
The local hospital radio may had a suitable DJ
